Thank you to all who voted in the Primary election. Our 2 to 1 victory was decisive, and it sends us on the the General Election on November 2 with vigor and momentum.

I enjoy campaign season. Some complain about having to run for office every two years. The Constitutional Convention adopted language to change it to every four years, in fact. The truth is that campaigning keeps senators close to the people. There is a bond, a connection that is re-established.

That said, campaigning must never take the place of actual performance in the Legislature. As a senator, I need to know how my constituents feel, then fuse that with my research and hard work as we grapple with the issues before the Legislature.

What do you think and feel about the balance between office work and campaign-type outreach? How would you like to see senators strike this balance?
